Selvi at Wise Old Owl Tutoring has helped me immensely throughout completing 3/4 methods and specialist maths. She is... very patient and able to explain concepts in a range of different ways to ensure that you understand. She was able to show me sources I could access to find exercises or further explanations to help me, and she provided me with extra resources if I needed any more practice. Selvi was also available to answer any questions outside of our regular tutoring hours. It was obvious that she wanted to see me succeed and improve in my maths.read more

Selvi at Wise Old Owl Tutoring has been amazing. Always professional, on time, reliable and flexible with swapping our... lesson times to fit in some extra study time before a test. My son had a difficult start with Math Methods but since starting with Selvi his grades have been amazing, his confidence has greatly improved and he never complains about doing the extra work with Selvi to help improve his results. Wise Old Owl Tutoring has been outstanding. Selvi's kind, calm and clear instructions have turned maths test results... around in a matter of weeks. Selvi listens to my son and works with him so he understands what areas he needs to work on to gain a better understanding and in turn, a better mark in maths. She also is building his confidence. My son started taking maths tution from Selvi late last year , I have started seeing improvement in his maths through... his school report and from his school teacher. He had a test at school at the beginning of this school year and his teacher said his score on division was one of the highest in the class. September 2019: Selvi has been tutoring my son through Year 9 and 10 maths. Selvi recognises that people learn in... different ways. She has the innate ability to assess whether the student understands the concept, and then tailors the conversation in a different way, until understanding is reached. Selvi always goes beyond expectation and is genuinely interested in the student’s success. She is flexible, understanding and always happy to email more information when needed. We were recommended Selvi a few years ago by a friend and it was the best recommendation ever! My son had really... struggled with maths at primary school and at his first test at high school he got 27%. With some reluctance (being an 11 year old boy who disliked maths) he started seeing Selvi and after only a short while, he started to understand maths better, and at the next school maths test he got 68%. He was thrilled at his first good mark for maths ever, and from that point on he realised that he could actually learn maths from a good teacher! He is now in Year 11, is doing Maths Methods and consistently scores As and Bs and now enjoys it immensely. Selvi finds a way to engage students, especially ones like my son who actively disliked maths, and can explain things in a way they understand. She is calm, kind and proactive about helping students prepare for upcoming tests and exams. She does not burden them with extra tasks but is very good at working along with the topics that they are currently doing at school, which helps students keep up with their schoolwork and makes them feel better during class time too. My now 17 year old son still has weekly sessions with Selvi which he never wants to miss, and now even asks for extra sessions when he has an exam coming up as he knows her tips and revision assistance will make all the difference!read more
